At BB&T, employee compensation extends well beyond annual income. It includes what we call the BB&T Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package rewards employees for their commitment to BB&T and their valuable contributions to our success.

Salary
BB&T provides a competitive cash compensation program. In addition to base salary, employees may receive incentive pay, overtime pay, and bonuses. Exceptional employee performance is compensated during the annual performance review period. Officers receive performance reviews each April and nonofficers receive performance reviews each year on the anniversary of their hire date. Other pay increases may occur when employees take advantage of advancement opportunities.

Benefits such as disability and term life insurance are calculated using your "benefits base pay," which results in more coverage, because it includes your base pay plus overtime, bonuses, commission, and incentives. Your benefits base pay does not fluctuate throughout the year, but is recalculated each year prior to annual benefits enrollment.

Benefits Package
The BB&T benefits package has received national recognition for being comprehensive and competitive. Any BB&T employee scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week is eligible for benefits. Because your needs may vary throughout your career, our benefits package allows you to customize your benefits to meet your changing needs. With the exception of disability insurance and dependent life insurance, benefit premiums are deducted on a pretax basis.
