How can I enroll in BB&T's Dividend Reinvestment Plan?
You must review the Prospectus for the plan and submit a completed authorization card.

You may view online and print a copy of the BB&T Corporate Dividend Reinvestment Plan Prospectus at any time.

Yes. Review the Prospectus and complete the enrollment form online. Many plan services also are available online through BB&T Online Shareholder Services.

Can I sell certificated shares through the Dividend Reinvestment Plan?
No. Certificated shares are sold through a registered broker. Contact any broker of your choice. If you do not regularly deal with a broker or do not have a brokerage account, you may want to contact BB&T Investment Services at 1-800-453-7348 for assistance in selling certificated shares.

Can I sell non-certificated shares through the Dividend Reinvestment Plan?
Yes, non-certificated shares held in the Dividend Reinvestment Plan may be sold through the plan. Any applicable fees, taxes, and commissions will be deducted from the proceeds of any such sale.

May I make optional cash contributions to the Dividend Reinvestment Plan?
Yes. After you are a BB&T shareholder of record, meaning you own at least one share in your own name and not through a brokerage account, you may participate in the Dividend Reinvestment Plan and make optional cash contributions of at least $25, so long as the aggregate of such payments does not exceed $25,000 during any calendar month. Purchases will be made weekly (generally on Fridays or, if that is not a trading day, then on the next trading day) for those choosing the option of investing cash payments other than through bank drafts. Optional cash payments must be received at least three calendar days before the applicable investment date.

May I have my checking or savings account drafted for optional cash payments?
Yes. Once you have completed an authorization form, BB&T's transfer agent will draft your account, generally on or about the 23rd day of each calendar month. Purchases with such amounts generally are made on the first investment date of the next month. For additional information, please contact Shareholder Services at 1-800-213-4314. If your account is Internet enabled, the Automatic Investment authorization form is also available online when you select Perform Transactions from the top navigation bar.

Can cash dividends be directly deposited into my bank account?
Yes. Through the direct deposit program, shareholders of record may have their dividends electronically deposited directly into a checking or savings account held at a financial institution located within the continental United States. You may even be able to enroll for direct deposit through BB&T Online Shareholder Services. After accessing your account, select the Direct Deposit option under the Perform Transactions tab from the top navigation bar. You may also request an Authorization Form for Direct Deposit of Dividends from:

How will I know the amount of the dividend being credited?
Dividends are normally paid on the first business day of February, May, August, and November. If your account has been activated for online access, you may access your account and confirm the dividend amount, or you may confirm the amount deposited with your financial institution. Many details regarding your plan account are also available through BB&T Online Shareholder Services.

How may I change my address on my shareholder account?
You may be able to change your address through BB&T Online Shareholder Services. Select Change Account Information from the top navigation bar. You may also request to have your address changed with a signed notice to:

You cannot change your shareholder address via email.

Can I receive shareholder information via email?
Yes. If you access your account through BB&T Online Shareholder Services, log on to your account and select the Change Notification option under the Change Account Information tab from the top navigation bar. Here you may select electronic notification, and sign up to receive an email when your shareholder information is available online. You will then receive an email containing a link that will lead you to your information.
