Associates oversee the execution of investment banking projects, ranging from preliminary valuation and research work to due diligence and completion of transactions. Associates begin as “generalists” and work on a variety of corporate finance transactions within our six targeted industry groups. Transactions include, but are not limited to, initial public offerings, secondary offerings, private placements of debt or equity, fairness opinions, and merger and acquisition advisory (both buy-side and sell-side). An associate is assured significant client interaction and responsibility early in his/her career, as BB&T Capital Markets transaction teams are typically small, staffed with a senior banker, an associate, and an analyst. Associates should demonstrate a superior knowledge of finance and accounting, along with a sound understanding of valuation metrics used in corporate finance. We are looking for highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and creative individuals with strong communications skills and a desire to live in the southeast.
