Individuals may stop payment of a check from a personal checking account by using our Online Self-Service feature.

Business clients may stop payments for checks that have not cleared and are less than 45 days old from CashManager OnLine^®.

By phone
Stop payment on an uncleared check 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling BB&T Phone24 at 1-800-BANK-BBT (1-800-226-5228).

In person
Stop payment on an uncleared check at any convenient BB&T branch.
