There are three ways to stop payment on an uncleared check written on a personal checking account:
Online
Individuals may stop payment of a check from a personal checking account by logging on to BB&T OnLine® and clicking on the Customer Service tab.
Business clients may stop payments for checks that have not cleared and are less than 45 days old from
BB&T OnLine, BB&T Small Business OnLine® or
CashManager OnLine®.
By phone
Stop payment on an uncleared check 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling BB&T Phone24 at 1-800-BANK-BBT (1-800-226-5228).
In person
Stop payment on an uncleared check at any convenient BB&T branch.
