
We know you have a lot of questions about how this system conversion will affect you. These answers to frequently asked questions are provided to help you understand important information related to the conversion process, what you should do, and where to get help.
You have two options available for connecting to the new system (BB&T Banking & Bill Payment) after the conversion period. You can:
- Back Up your Data.
- Force delete your bill payments and complete the original conversion steps, or
- Start a new data file.
Microsoft Money clients may receive error message OFXHTTP500 when trying to connect for the first time after the conversation. To resolve this issue and connect to the new system, please completely close out your Money software and login again.
You may see one of the error messages below when force deleting payments:
OL-359: Your financial institution could not find the repeating transaction you selected. For
more information, contact your financial institution.
OL-350: This repeating transaction has already been cancelled. For more information, contact
your financial institution.

As a result of the BB&T system upgrade, you were asked to delete pending and repeating online payments from the old server. If you did not perform the steps provided by October 31, 2009, you’ll need to follow the attached instructions to delete the payments.
Force Delete Payment (78.5KB)
- From the main menu, select Online --> Online Center.
- Hold down the Ctrl + F3 keys, and click on the Contact Info text link.
- In the FI Action Required window, select BB&T.
- Select Delete.
- In the warning message that appears, select Yes.
- Select OK to close the FI Action Required window

As BB&T completes its system conversion clients using Quicken or QuickBooks will need to modify settings in their financial management software to ensure the smooth transition of account data. This update is time sensitive and must be completed between July 31, 2009 and September 30, 2009.
Clients using Microsoft Money will not need to modify settings, but should review conversion FAQs for other important information.
Quicken and QuickBooks clients - It is important that you perform the conversion instructions exactly as described and in the order presented. If you do not, your online banking service may stop functioning properly. Please select the software version you are using for specific conversion instructions from the list of currently supported products on www.bbt.com/upgradepfm
Quicken and QuickBooks clients will perform the following actions during the conversion process. Please refer to the conversion instructions for the product version you are using.
- Back-up current Data
- Download the latest software update
- Print list of repeating and scheduled payments
- Delete scheduled and repeating payments
- One-step update to get latest transactions
- Disable current online banking account under BB&T Group
- Re-enable accounts under BB&T Banking & Bill Payment
- Update payee information (if applicable)
- Recreate repeating and scheduled payments
- One-step update
Quicken and QuickBooks clients - your scheduled and recurring bill payments will not automatically convert to the new system.
You should review and PRINT your Bill Payment list to make sure all the information is accurate and up-to-date. (You’ll use this information when you recreate your payments after you reactivate your BB&T accounts in your Quicken or QuickBooks software during the conversion period.) For instructions on reviewing and printing your bill payment list please see the conversion instructions for your specific product.
Quicken & QuickBooks Clients Only - Payments sent from Quicken/QuickBooks to the old system on or after September 30, 2009, may be rejected.
Microsoft Money Clients - Scheduled and Recurring Bill Payments will process as normal.
Any online instruction from Quicken/QuickBooks sent to the old system on or after September 30, 2009, will be rejected.
No, it is important that you perform the conversion instructions exactly as described and in the order presented between July 31 and September 30. All conversion steps need to be made during the same calendar day for your Quicken or QuickBooks access to function properly.
Microsoft Money clients will not be able to email client support before July 31.
Quicken and QuickBooks clients will be able to email client support only after completing the conversion process. Emails sent to client support on and after the conversion start date will need to be sent on the new system. Please complete the conversion instructions prior to emailing client support. If you have questions regarding your account or recent bill payment during the conversion period please call BB&T Online Support at 1-888-228-6654.
Please allow 30 minutes to complete the conversion instructions. QuickBooks clients that have online access to multiple accounts may want to allow additional time.
If you are setting up Quicken or QuickBooks access for the first time, on or after the conversion start date, please select BB&T Banking & Bill Payment as your Financial Institution.
No. Only Quicken and QuickBooks clients using BB&T Group are affected. Clients using Credit Card Connection, Retirement Services, or Bankcard & Merchant Services are not affected by this conversion.
If you would like to view your accounts through BB&T OnLine during the conversion period:
- Visit www.BBT.com and look for the OnLine Banking logon button on the left side of the screen.
- Your User ID and Password are the same as what you used to activate your BB&T accounts within Quicken, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Money.
