Teller

  • Participate in the daily operations of the branch. Responsible for delivery of superior quality service while adhering to corporate, regulatory and audit guidelines.
  • Provide timely and efficient completion of client transactions while maintaining accurate records and thorough proper handling of all monies assigned.
  • Proactively participate in the sales and referral process of the branch as directed by management.

Mortgage Loan Officer

  • Responsible for the sales and marketing of BB&T Mortgage Loan products within bank policies and procedures.
  • Provide consistent, effective referrals of mortgage clients for other bank services, including banking, investments and insurance products.

Business Services Officer

  • Identify, solicit, develop, manage, service and expand business relationships in an assigned market using a consultative relationship management approach.

  • Refer business clients with personal financial needs to appropriate Relationship Managers.

Relationship Banker Trainee

This position is a 90-day program designed to train newly hired Relationship Bankers. Trainees learn to fulfill the job requirements as described below.

  • Proactively initiate, develop and manage long-term, profitable relationships.
  • Manage existing client relationships to identify future needs.
  • Help clients address needs using a consultative approach.
  • Gain an understanding of each client in order to identify additional financial needs and refer to appropriate financial partners.
  • Deliver superior quality service in person and by phone such that client needs are positively met on a consistent basis.

Financial Center Leader

  • Responsible for overall balanced financial performance of branch with emphasis on retail lending, deposit acquisition and noninterest income generation.
  • Proactively initiate, develop and manage long-term, profitable relationships with clients.
  • Deliver superior quality service in person and by phone such that client needs are positively met on a consistent basis.
  • Provide general supervision of branch with focus on branch sales efforts.

BB&T expects their employees to be honest, have character, use sound judgment and be happy. I can honestly say I am very happy to work for BB&T and always try to be the Best of the Best.

Four years ago, I was very sick and was in the hospital for over four weeks. My doctors, who were also my clients, did not know if I would survive. I would look out my hospital room window and see my branch, then wonder what they were doing without me. I had time to review what I had achieved in life and made a "bucket list." I chose two things: be the Financial Center Leader Sterling Performer of the year for the North Atlanta Region and be the Best of the Best for the corporation. Because of my desire to win and be successful, I used all of the tools BB&T had made available to me and completed my bucket list in 2008.

To be employed with one of the most financially sound banks in the country until retirement is absolutely a dream that would come true.

I started my career at BB&T as a Teller in Greenville, S.C. Although that was not the "job" I wanted. What made it great was a manager who took the time to help me learn about the industry.

I enjoyed building relationships with my clients and soon became a Sales Customer Service Representative, now known as a Relationship Banker (RB). During the next three years, I came to understand how much our clients need our help with meeting their financial goals.

As I advanced to the Retail Services Officer and eventually Financial Center Manager positions, I came to realize that not only is there a chance to improve on our clients' needs but also to improve our employees' knowledge and strategies. I am currently a Sales and Service Leader and really enjoy the coaching aspect of this role. It is very rewarding for me to watch employees grow in their positions. I was promoted to head teller within six months and became a Teller Coordinator/Teller Supervisor with BB&T during the merger in 2003. My position entails sales goals, leadership and compliance with BB&T policies and procedures. In my current role, I have received many awards for performance, including Olympian Performer and the Regional President's Award.

After graduating with an economics degree from McDaniel College, I was seeking to join a company that was dedicated to the efficient training and overall professional development of each of its employees. After four years with the bank, I can honestly say that BB&T has held true to its mission, vision and values.

Over the past two years, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience working in commercial banking. As a new lender, it was wonderful to be able to lean on an experienced City Executive, a Senior Credit Officer, multiple Business Services Assistants and other senior lenders for guidance and support. This has been an excellent opportunity to merge my joy of sales and my relationships in the community with the desire to coach and develop a winning team.
