How it Works

Deposit a Check

Download the newest version of BB&T Mobile App for either your Android^™ device or iPhone^®/ iPod touch^®.
Log on to your BB&T Mobile App using your online banking user ID and password
Choose Deposits from the menu
Read and accept the Terms and Conditions. View the Mobile Check Deposit FAQ in the Resources section below.
Select the account to receive the deposit
Enter the amount of your check
Sign the back of your check
Take pictures of the front and back of your check
Submit the check for deposit
Mobile check deposits are free

Mobile Check Deposit Eligibility Requirements

Relationship with BB&T for at least 90 days
Funded BB&T bank deposit account (checking or small business checking) in good standing*
Active BB&T OnLine^® account and currently using BB&T Mobile App (iPhone^® or Android^™)

Mobile Check Deposit Technical Requirements
Android^™ or iPhone^®, or iPod Touch^® with:

2MP or greater camera
Apple iOS version 3.0 or greater
Android OS 1.6 or greater

BB&T Mobile Banking App installed on mobile device:

Version 3.0.0 or higher

BB&T Mobile Check Deposit is not a third-party app and does not require a separate download. By including it within our secure Mobile App, your transactions to BB&T are completely protected and confidential.

BB&T Mobile Banking Security

Built-in security includes multi-factor authentication, advanced encryption and never displaying full account numbers.
Check images and confidential information are NOT stored on your device.

Mobile Banking Safety

After making your deposit, safeguard the items deposited for 30 days and then shred them.
Public and Free Wi-Fi connections should not be used for banking transactions- For enhanced security we recommend using your phone carrier's internet connections.
