Hurricane Sandy Update

Our hearts go out to those of you who have experienced hardships due to Hurricane Sandy. BB&T is here to help see you through the hard times and do what we can to help you recover.

We will consider waiving fees incurred between Oct. 29 and Nov. 1 as a result of the storm. This includes:

  • Overdraft fees, returned item fees and negative account balance fees
  • Late fees on mortgage payments
  • Personal loans, Home Equity Lines and Preferred Lines. Please contact your loan officer to discuss your loan if your home has been damaged.

To discuss the possibility of having fees waived, visit or call your local financial center or relationship manager.

We are ready to assist clients in areas where financial centers were closed or had limited hours due to the storm.

The majority of our financial centers are now open for business. Some locations in West Virginia and Virginia remain closed due to blizzard conditions or power outages. During this time, clients may conduct business through Phone24 (800-BANK-BBT) 800-226-5228, ATMs or BB&T OnLine Banking.
