Report an Incident
ATMs are a fast and easy way to withdraw cash, check account balances, transfer funds and more. But they can be the target of crime, including a new type of fraud called ATM skimming.
Here are general tips to keep in mind as you use ATMs:
What Is ATM Skimming?
The theft of personal details from an ATM is called ATM skimming.
How It Works
In this scam, a card-reading device is mounted on top of the ATM card entry slot. The device captures your account information from the magnetic strip on your card. Hidden cameras or fake keypads record your PIN.
Then the thieves combine your account number and PIN. They manufacture counterfeit cards to make purchases or withdraw funds from your accounts.
Signs of ATM Skimming
