BB&T is a learning organization where employees are challenged to develop both personally and professionally. The Leadership Development Program includes intensive classroom and on-the-job training with an emphasis on providing excellent client service. BB&T Executive Management and members of the Senior Leadership Team contribute to the overall learning experience.
Post-graduation mentoring is one way we ensure the growth, development and retention of our leaders. We recognize the role the direct manager plays in leading and coaching his or her direct reports; however, we also believe there are benefits to being exposed to a range of perspectives. For this reason, all Associates participate in a 2-year mentoring program. Your mentor will be an individual with experience in your role who can provide expertise and general career advice.
Senior Executive Support
Our Executive Management team includes many LDP graduates. They are committed to the program and understand the value it brings to BB&T. LDP Associates have numerous opportunities to interact with senior management throughout the program and beyond in the form of guest speakers, training presentations and a formal graduation ceremony. After graduation, exposure to senior management continues through training events and LDP reunions.
The BB&T Leadership Development Program provides Associates with excellent opportunities for networking with others who have similar professional interests.
