BB&T relocates North Harwood branch to Trammell Crow Center ground floor

DALLAS – BB&T will relocate its branch at 717 N. Harwood Street to the ground floor of the Trammell Crow Center, 2001 Ross Avenue, in downtown Dallas on July 23. The new branch location completes a larger strategic plan which included the recent move of BB&T’s Texas corporate offices to the 27th floor of the Trammell Crow Center.

“Our growth in Texas has been truly phenomenal,” said Kay St. John, BB&T Texas regional president. “This branch move to a high-profile, high-traffic location will certainly provide us the increased potential for expanding our presence.”

BB&T entered the Texas banking market in August 2009 with the acquisition of Colonial Bank. At that time BB&T had 19 branches in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and three branches in Austin with 80 full time employees. Today, BB&T’s employee base in Texas has more than doubled with more than 160 full time employees. BB&T recently opened de novo branches in Richardson and Little Elm, a branch in Arlington and now has a total of 22 branches in Dallas/Fort Worth and five in Austin.
