Frequently asked questions
What is the BB&T Visa® Award Card?
The BB&T Visa Award Card is a prepaid card, not a credit card. The value of the card is limited to the amount of money loaded on the card. It carries the Visa logo, like any Visa credit or check card, but because it is a prepaid card, your spending is limited to the amount of money placed on the card by the purchaser. The BB&T Visa Award Card allows you to buy what you want, when you want, at millions of merchants in the United States where Visa debit cards are accepted.
How does my BB&T Visa Award Card work?
Using your BB&T Visa Award card for a purchase is similar to using any prepaid Visa card. Each time you use your card, the purchase amount is automatically deducted from your available balance. Knowing your balance before you shop will ensure your card is accepted. You can check your balance any time by visiting our cardholder service site(opens in a new tab) or by calling 866-594-2076.
